Hailing from London, 19 year old DJ / Producer Dream has been causing a stir amongst Dubstep enthusiasts the world over with his fresh, energetic approach to the now universally recognised UK dance genre.
The phrase “the next big thing” gets bandied around all too often, however in this case it is more than apt. In the last year, the hype around his music has kicked up a gear with dubstep luminaries such as Benga & Skream, Skrillex, Chase & Status, Modestep, UKF & many, many more supporting heavily.
Dream has already performed live for some of the biggest promotions in the UK, playing alongside a host of A-list artists. These include the likes of Andy C, Major Lazer, Katy B, Nero, Shy FX, Ms Dynamite & Professor Green to name a few.
As well as his busy schedule in the UK, Dream has recently had successful tours in both Australia and Canada and has performed his unparalleled sets throughout Europe alongside the likes of Armin Van Buuren, Avicii, Afrojack and Pretty lights. Things are busy for this rising star to say the least.
With a steady flow of single and E.P releases building up, on labels such as X147, OWSLA and H.E.N.C.H, ahead of a planned debut album in 2013, Dream looks like being a mainstay of the UK music scene for the foreseeable future, something that BBC 1xtra have noted, selecting him as one of the featured artists on their “Daily dose of Dubstep” segment and selecting him to appear as Mista Jam’s ‘tip for the top’ on Rob Da Bank’s epic BBC Maida Vale dubstep special (June 2011).
Dream’s remixes to date include the likes of Maverick Sabre (Universal), Ohmy (679), Marco Del Horno & The Wideboys, and has a number of very exciting collaborations in the pipeline. With an ever growing and engaged digital following and the continuing hype and support from DJs, fans and press to boot, it’s fair to say that Rowan Jones is living the dream.
