Icarus wanted to make sure that their first release demonstrated diversity, while at the same time sounding whole. They also wanted their tracks to be capable of keeping a listener hooked, be it in a club or on the tube. When writing the EP, their inspiration came from many different places and they worked hard on refining each track to flow smoothly from start to finish. Striking a balance between coherence and the unexpected is what excites them when writing music, and they feel that they’ve achieved that with this release.
“While it’s often difficult to show a range of technique and capability within a small release, Icarus nail it on the head here with the dexterous Steal The Sun.”
“Complex percussion and and a dark bass line place a definitive sound on Icarus, worthy of any UK Garage or techno enthusiast’s library.”
“Overpowering bass and groovy percussion can bring anyone to their feet, as Icarus reiterates over and over.”
