“After treating us last week to Griz’s remix of “Slap,” OWSLA has unveiled another remix to Kill Paris’s forthcoming To a New Earth EP. Slovenia’s Gramatik has taken on To a New Earth‘s lead single, and it’s everything you would expect from a combination of his groovy glitch hop stylings with Kill Paris’s soulful bass. Gramatik layers on riff after riff of clean guitar lines, supplementing what we can only assume to be Kill Paris’s jazzy melodies and punchy kicks. The result is an intriguing mix of jam band, glitch hop, and dubstep, coming together seamlessly in an amalgam of blissful bass music. Stay tuned for the full release of To a New Earth on February 26th.”

“Each track hosts its own unique listening experience, avoiding one of the worst clichés an electronic artist could put forth: predictability.“
“This second half of the “Metropolis” EP pushes The M Machine’s unique sound a little further and skillfully blurs the lines between musical genres.“
“All 6 tracks are perfectly setup to take the listener on a futuristic bass filled journey they will never forget.“
“Metropolis Pt. 2″ is pure gold, track after track of impressive mood-evoking chords and melodies.“
“The album rolls along for all six extremely unique tracks and provides one of the best listening experiences of early 2013.“
“With a sound that almost seems ahead of its time, Metropolis Pt. II brings a whole set of new sonic experiences to both OWSLA and the world as a whole. Rich with palpable experimental basslines and progressive beats, The M Machine makes their mark to what looks already looks like a promising year.“
Congratulations to The M Machine for having their song Luma selected as Mixmag Tune of the Week!

“Meet Oleg and Anton, the Russian/Ukrainian duo formerly known as Place 2B and Paimon, now more popularly known as Teddy Killerz. Skrillex himself was so impressed by the duo’s Make It Bun Dem Remix Contest entry that he not only proclaimed them honorary winners, but he also decided to sign them to his groundbreaking label, OWSLA. Best known for their stellar dnb, dubstep, and breaks productions, the duo decided to switch things up for their first original release for OWLSA with the Toys Riot EP, a three-track collection of some very filthy trap music.”

Bangarang for Best Dance/Electronica Album

Last week OWSLA released the new Birdy Nam Nam EP, Defiant Order, which arrived with a slew of remixes by DJ Craze, Breakbot, UZ, and Block Beattaz. But today we’re about to do you one better with an exclusive video of Craze cutting up the track live.
“The most important thing for me is to give it that human funk,” Craze comments on cutting up a live remix. “Whether you’re playing an instrument live or scratching live or whatever—as long as it’s got that human funk. I wanted to give this mix a little bit of what I can bring to the table, with the scratches and that swing I love having in my music. I focused on the vocals ’cause they sounded organic and added some horns to give it that funk.” Below you can check out both the live mix on video and grab Craze’s remix from the Defiant Order EP. As well, Birdy Nam Nam have just uploaded a brand-new Beatport Mix, which features the likes of Four Tet, Jam City, Para One, Hrdvision, and tons more, so check that out, too.
